Calories burned using heart rate

Heart rate based calorie burn (caloric expenditure) calculators provides an estimate of the rate at which people burn calories during cardio exercises, based on their average heart rate while performing the activity.

It may seem like manufacturers are always hiding the real formula behind calories burned from heart rate.

Here is the formula to calculate calories burned from heart rate.

Using VO2max:
Men: C/min = (-59.3954 + (-36.3781 + 0.271 x age + 0.394 x weight + 0.404 x VO2max + 0.634 x HR))/4.184
Women: C/min = (-59.3954 + (0.274 x age + 0.103 x weight + 0.380 x VO2max + 0.450 x HR)) / 4.184

Without VO2max:
Men: C/min = (-55.0969 + 0.6309 x HR + 0.1988 x weight + 0.2017 x age) / 4.184
Women: C/min = (-20.4022 + 0.4472 x HR – 0.1263 x weight + 0.074 x age) / 4.184

(Weigh is in kilograms, C stands for Kcals)

I got it now, that’s why it’s easier to use calculators! 🙂

How many calories do you burn lifting weights

When people are asking question: “How much I need to lift weights to lose weight?”
The right answer is: “To lose weight you need to run (or do other cardio)!”

The main goal of lift weighting is to gain muscle mass.

I wanted to remind you that so when I will tell you how many calories burned lifting weights, you will take it serious.

On average moderate weight lifting burn 115 calories per 30 minutes of exercises. That is 230 calories burned per 1 hour. How many?! That is like calories burned doing yoga.

Vigorous lift weighting burn 225 calories per 30 minutes on average. That is 450 calories burned hardcore weight lifting.

Average data based on the body weight of 70 kilos (155 pounds).

Interesting thing about weight lifting and calories is that it gives you a metabolic boost which lasts for approximately an hour after weight lifting workout. During that period, your body keeps working burning calories even when you are out of the gym already.

To determine the number of suggested calories that you should be getting, first start with where you are. Start with how many calories it takes to maintain your present size and then start to reduce your calories from there. You can find out this in many ways. Most people simply choose a number like 1200 calories and that’s what they eat, but in most of the cases that’s not nearly enough calories to ensure enough nutrition to stay healthy.
Remember, your body requires calories to maintain itself.

Here are suggestions on basic calorie requirements calculations based on the level of activity:
Sedentary (not exercising at all): 13 X Weight (in pounds) = Average calories per day
Moderately Active: 16 X Weight = Suggested average calories per day
Moderately Active is exercising approximately 3-4 times per week
Very Active: 19 X Weight = Average calories per day
Very Active is 5-7 strenuous exercise sessions per week.
If you weight over 200 pounds now, and you’d like weight closer to 150, here is a calculation you could use to get started: Assuming you are going to be adding enough exercise to quality as Moderately Active, we’ll use 16 as our modifier:
150 pounds X 16 calories per pound = 2400 calories
Less 500 (Using the common 500 calories per day reduction) gives us a total of 1900 average calories per day
If you started to incorporate a plan that allowed an average of 1900 calories every day, you’d start to lose weight. The mistake most people make is to reduce calories too much. It’s better in the long run to go slowly, keeping as much muscle as possible while burning calories via exercise.

Lean Body Mass Calculator determines what is the weight of yours would be if you would not have any fat.
Of course, having no fat at all is not possible. In fact, if you would not have any fat, you would probably die. So Lean Body Mass Calculator basically needed to measure approximate numbers of ideal body fat.

The formula for lean body mass that uses James method 1,2 is:

Lean Body Weight (men) = (1.10 x Weight(kg)) – 128 x ( Weight2/(100 x Height(m))2)
Lean Body Weight (women) = (1.07 x Weight(kg)) – 148 x ( Weight2/(100 x Height(m))2)

An alternate formula for lean body mass using the method of Hume3 is

For men over the age of 16: lean body mass in kilograms = (0.32810 * (body weight in kilograms)) + (0.33929 * (height in centimeters)) – 29.5336

For women over the age of 30: lean body mass in kilograms = (0.29569 * (body weight in kilograms)) + (0.41813 * (height in centimeters)) – 43.2933
